This term is all about rehearsing and getting ready for our Summer Show: Burlesque at the Movies, taking place on 12th July at The Button Factory.
Throughout the term, you’ll be placed into your show groups and begin rehearsing your routines in class. All choreography has been taught in previous terms, so this term will focus purely on rehearsing, refining, and bringing your performance to life on stage.
We’ll be focusing on performance quality, confidence, and that signature burlesque presence—polishing every detail so you feel fully prepared.
Alongside rehearsals, we’ll also be training to get show fit—working on strength, control, stamina, and stage presence so you feel strong, confident, and stage-ready.
This is an exciting and focused term as we work toward the show, so booking is open to current students only.

Step into the glamorous world of burlesque and discover the art of tease, confidence, and self-expression in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment.
This term, our focus will be on preparing for our Summer Show: Burlesque at the Movies, taking place on 12th July at The Button Factory. Throughout the course, you’ll learn and rehearse a brand-new routine inspired by the theme, helping you build performance skills, stage presence, and confidence as we work toward the show.
Classes will focus on developing elegant movement, musicality, and expressive burlesque styling while learning choreography designed for the summer performance. We’ll also continue building strength, control, and body awareness to support confident dancing and performance.

We’re thrilled to announce a 4-week Beginner Burlesque course, designed for those new to burlesque or those looking to refresh their skills. This term will introduce you to the art of burlesque in a fun, supportive, and empowering environment.
You’ll learn the foundations of burlesque performance, including basic choreography, movement technique, confidence-building, and stage presence. Throughout the course, we’ll explore essential burlesque elements like sensuality, expression, and body awareness — all while working toward an exciting routine for our Summer Show, Burlesque at the Movies, on July 12th at The Button Factory.

Over the course, you’ll learn:
Silk Veil Techniques: Explore how to move, twirl, and flow with silk veils to create elegant shapes, dynamic accents, and seamless transitions.
Classical Burlesque Techniques: Develop poise, posture, musicality, and expressive movement inspired by traditional burlesque, including confident walks, arm styling, and theatrical flair.
Belly Dance–Inspired Movement: Learn foundational belly dance elements that emphasize isolations, coordination, and expressive torso and hip movement.
Core Strength & Control: Build strength, stability, and body awareness while improving balance, posture, and control.
No prior dance experience is required—just bring your curiosity and an open mind. This class is perfect for anyone looking to improve fitness, confidence, and elegance while exploring multiple dance styles.
This term, we will also work towards learning a full routine that fuses silk veil work with classical burlesque and belly dance–inspired choreography.

The Roaring 20s Charleston – suitable for all levels

Get ready to step, kick, and swing your way into the party season with style! This high-energy 6-week Charleston course brings the spirit of the Roaring 20s to life — think fast footwork, jazzy flair, and all the vintage glamour your inner flapper could wish for.
You’ll learn authentic Charleston technique, build stamina, and master stylish combinations that are as fun as they are fierce. Expect to sweat, sparkle, and feel fabulous, all while boosting your confidence and performance skills.
This course is suitable for all levels — whether you’re brand new or brushing up your Charleston skills, you’ll be guided in a supportive and upbeat environment that celebrates individuality and fun.

This term, we’re stepping into the spotlight with true Showgirl Style — a dazzling blend of vintage glamour, poised confidence, and festive charm to have you sparkling just in time for the holiday season. Expect a wink of sass and a twirl of seasonal magic as we glide into the festivities with grace and glitter.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of classic burlesque movement, while improving posture, poise, and confidence — all in a fun and supportive environment. No dance experience is needed — just bring your enthusiasm and an open mind!
We’ll be working on a full showgirl style routine to ‘A Guy What Takes His Time’ and in the spirit of the season, we’ll also be learning a fun and festive choreography to ‘Jingle Bell Rock’.
To finish off the term in style, we’ll celebrate with an in-studio performance in our final class — a chance to shine and show off everything you’ve learned.

Step into the world of glitz, glamour, and jazz as the Irish Burlesque Academy presents “Shimmy & Shake”, an exciting workshop blending the high-energy Charleston with the sultry art of burlesque. This one-of-a-kind event is designed for absolute beginners, offering a fun, feel-good introduction to the magic of the 1920s and burlesque performances.
Taking place on Saturday, April 19th at Liffey Trust Studios, Dublin 1, Shimmy & Shake will be a high-spirited session filled with jazz-age moves and classic burlesque flair. With the iconic music of Postmodern Jukebox setting the tone, attendees will learn the thrilling Charleston steps alongside the teasing, playful style of burlesque to get ready for the upcoming Postmodern Jukebox concerts in Dublin.
